PET plastic bottle recycling treatment

PET plastic bottles are not only widely used in packaging carbonated drinks, drinking water, fruit juice and tea drinks, etc., but also widely used in food, chemical, pharmaceutical and other fields.

PET plastic has a wide range of applications in the field of packaging, whether packaging film, roll, or beer bottles, PET plastic is used.

Every year, tens of billions of PET plastic bottles are produced in China. It is estimated that by 2005, more than 500,000 tons of PET will be used in the manufacture of PET plastic bottles.

Therefore, recycling PET plastic bottles can not only solve environmental problems, but also serve as a new raw material resource to alleviate the shortage of PET raw materials in China.

Yes, looking back on China's 30 years of reform and opening up, although China has made remarkable achievements in the economic field, it has also brought about serious damage to China's environment.

Water pollution, air pollution, solid waste pollution and so on.

China's economy has shrunk.

People have gradually realized this problem and put forward a series of measures such as taking the road of sustainable development, green GDP strategy and circular economy strategy.

It can be seen that the recycling and utilization of PET plastic bottles is in line with the practical problems faced by China and is of great benefit to environmental protection, resource conservation and sustainable development.

The physical recovery and treatment of PET plastic bottles is relatively simple, mainly drying and granulating the cleaned PET plastic bottles.

The physical treatment of PET plastic bottles is closely related to the sorting process.

There are two main physical recovery methods:

One is to chop the waste PET plastic bottle into pieces, separate HDPE, aluminum, paper and adhesive from the PET, and then wash, dry and pelletize the PET debris.

The other is to mechanically separate the non-PET cap, base, label and other impurities on the waste PET plastic bottle, and then wash, crush and granulation.

Recycled PET must not contain PVC impurities, otherwise it will affect the PET color.

When the amount of PVC is relatively small, it can be separated on the conveyor belt by artificial method, that is, under the action of torsion, PVC and PET plastic bottles will have different melting points in the stressed part. The broken PET and PVC fragments will be passed through the conveyor belt equipped with a heater and temperature control. After the PVC is melted, it will stick to the conveyor belt, so that it can be separated from PET.

The label on the beverage bottle can be removed after the bottle is broken by a combined blower and cyclone separator.

The broken PET debris is added vertically from the top of the separation tower to form a countercurrent with the updraft. The specific gravity difference between PET and label debris is used to remove the label and PET comes out from the bottom of the separator. In order to ensure label separation efficiency, more than two sets of separation devices can be used in production.

Washing PET debris is very important.

Hot water at 80-100℃ is usually used for washing to soften or dissolve EVA adhesives or other types of adhesives that stick to the label and base. In order to prevent the adhesive falling off from adhering to PET debris, additives such as soda, emulsifier or other special chemical agents should be added in water.

The cleaning solution is generally determined by the factory according to the source and adhesion characteristics of waste bottles to determine the composition and content of the formula. The cleaning solution can be filtered to remove impurities and reheated for recycling. Washing can be carried out in a special cleaning tank equipped with a blender.

The water content of PET debris is usually reduced to 2% by centrifugal dehydrator and then to 0.5% by belt or tube dryer.

The recycling system of high-quality PET plastic bottles successfully developed by Krones can process up to 15,000 tons of PET beverage bottles annually, and the processed PET raw materials can be directly made into other PET containers, greatly reducing the production cost.

The recycling system of PET plastic bottles can realize the recycling of any kind of PET plastic bottles by using the technology of chemical coating elimination and alkaline burning as the chemical coating elimination agent to remove the contaminants adhered on the surface of PET plastic bottles.

The recycling products processed by this technology can not only be directly mixed into bottle preforms, but also meet the requirements of purity and quality due to the low content of acetaldehyde and yellow pigment, especially suitable for the packaging of products in the food and beverage industry, with a cost 20% to 30% lower than that of general new materials.
