[Basic characteristics] HIGH-density polyethylene is an opaque white waxy material, lighter than water, specific gravity 0.941~0.960, soft and ductile, but slightly harder than LDPE, also slightly extensible, non-toxic, tasteless.
[Combustion characteristics] inflammable, after the fire can continue to burn, the top of the flame is yellow, the bottom is blue, when the combustion will melt, there is liquid dripping, no black smoke, at the same time, stone wax emitted when burning smell.
[Main advantages] Acid and alkali resistance, organic solvent resistance, excellent electrical insulation, low temperature, still maintain a certain degree of toughness.
Surface hardness, tensile strength, rigidity and other mechanical strength are higher than LDPE, close to PP, tougher than PP, but the surface finish is not as good as PP.
[Main disadvantages] Poor mechanical performance, poor ventilation, easy deformation, easy aging, brittle, brittleness is lower than PP
, easy to stress cracking, low surface hardness, easy to scratch.
Difficult to print, printing, the need for surface discharge treatment, can not electroplate, the surface luster.
[Application] Used for extrusion packaging film, rope, woven bag, fishing net, water pipe;
Injection molding low-grade daily necessities and shells, non-load bearing components, plastic box, turnover box;
Extruded blow molding containers, hollow products, bottles.
HDPE has countless applications, ranging from reusable thin-walled beverage cups to 5-GSL cans, consuming 1/5 of the domestically produced HDPE.
Injection grade general melt index 5 ~ 10, has the toughness lower fluidity grade and has the processability higher fluidity grade.
USES include daily necessities and thin-walled food packaging;
Tough, durable food and paint cans;
High resistance to environmental stress cracking applications, such as small engine fuel tanks and 90-Gal garbage cans.
General HDPE melting point is 142℃, decomposition temperature is 300℃;
The adjustable range of injection temperature is large.
When injection molding, the general service temperature is 180℃--230℃;
Since it is an olefins plastic, it does not absorb water and does not need to be dried during production. However, for product quality, it can be dried at 60℃ for 1hr to discharge floating water.
The melt viscosity of polyethylene is large, length ratio is small, thin wall products may lack of glue, therefore, gate and runner relatively large;
Products with static electricity, easy surface absorption.
The shrinkage rate was 16‰.
Overflow value is 0.05mm.
