Plastic bottle material PS, PP, PET difference

Polypropylene (PP) applications: microwave tableware, basin, plastic bucket, thermos shell, woven bag, etc.

Characteristics: high chemical stability, good sanitary performance, high heat resistance.

Microwave tableware can be made of plastics marked PP.

Toxicity: non-toxic, harmless to human body.

The polymer may have three three-dimensional structures: isotactic, intertactic, and amorphous polypropylene. The first two can crystallize, while the latter cannot.

The basic structure of the commercially available polypropylene products is as follows: melting point: 164~170 ° C; crystallization density: 0.935 g/cm3; non-clean part: 0.851 g/cm3.

The biggest disadvantage of PP is easy oxidation aging.

It is now overcome by adding antioxidants and uv absorbers.

PET applications: plastic beverage bottles, medicine bottles, cosmetics bottles, oil bottles and various caps, insulation caps.

Characteristics: good transparency, not easy to break, good chemical stability, suitable for a variety of liquid or solid pharmaceutical packaging.

Good shielding to ultraviolet ray.

Toxicity: non-toxic.

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a typical example of saturated polyester and can be used to make fibers, films and plastics.

Polystyrene (PS)

Application: disposable plastic cutlery, comb, box, ballpoint pen pole, children's toys, plastic shopping bags.

Characteristics: high transparency, glossy surface.

Toxicity: the material itself is non-toxic.

Production of disposable tableware when they use a lot of heavy metals such as illegal additives, and food contains dissolve each other, such as water, vinegar, oil enters the body, may cause indigestion, local pain and disease such as lesions in liver system, affect the mental development of children, severe cases can lead to gallstones, heavy metal poisoning and even cancer.

If the cutlery contains industrial paraffin wax, it can even cause cancer.
